The limiting factor, at the time of my spewing Exide Nautilus 10+ years ago, was the long length of 6awg factory wiring, and a 14 AWG fusible link inline which heated up a lot every time the battery was depleted.
It is the only battery that spewed electrolyte on every drive. I've had other batteries seep when I overfilled them, or did not get the ganged caps fully seated.
Profdant, the deka site linked above does not list a deep cycle 31, just the marine/dual purpose. A deep cycle sticker does not make for a deep cycle battery.
I now have a thicker alternator charging circuit and allow either battery to accept as much as it wants, and my voltage regulator seeks 14.9v.
