CONNECTING A PAIR OF 12V LED PLATES FOR 24V SYSTEM?

Before I get all crazy and order a bunch of 12 volt "placas" LED plates and wire them in series I think it wise to ask if someone out there has done this successfully... With a resistive or tungste...

They hurt the eye they are so bright. But I do not trust their ability to dissipate heat without being clamped thermally to a heatsink.

I need to find affordable heatsinks and then get re-educated with the 21st century grade of thermally conductive adhesives. I can use all the help I can get. Everything must be mailable to my USA post office box. Too bad I couldn't use zinc oxide paste but I'm afraid of electrical conductivity issues.
