Converted to natural gas?

There are indeed natural gas tanks but trust me when I tell you not to go that route, LNG is dangerous stuff, Far more so than LP.

The difference is the BTU's per cubic foot, Propane is much "Hotter" so you need to replace the orifaces and/or Regulator.

First: Check regulator output pressure, if you do not know how you may google the procedure and if you are comfortable try it, or better yet hire a pro. Only takes a couple minutes, so the cost should be 1 hr's labor (about 100 bucks)

Next. If the pressure is high (one way to accomplish it) replace the regulator, That may be all you need to do.

Else the orifaces (gas jets) will need to be replaced with smaller jets

And that is all there is to it, Furnace, Water heater, Oven and Stove, total six jets. many of them different sizes, Make thht 7, forgot the Refrigerator.

I wanna thank ya'll for the great advice! It me question what I had been told and it turned out the trailer was NOT converted to natural gas! It was fine, it was just the person working on it had less knowledge than Advertised. The trailer was still propane and it only took 5 minutes to "fix" the hot water heater by lighting a match. Giggle

I can now take hot showers! Woohoo! It's the little things in life.

Try a Google search on "Compressed Natural Gas" (CNG). CNG is not commonly used in RV's of course, but it is available for use with suitable tanks. Most RV appliances could be rejetted for CNG if desired, but there's little reason to do so.

True but doubt ANY RV tech has a set or knows how to do it correctly.

Easiest/cheapest for OP is to buy new correct sized propane orifices IF the propane appliance WERE converted to natural gas.



Regulating ---------
Natural gas or propane are both high pressure and use 2 stage regulators to drop high pressure down to low, low pressure
7" WC (0.25#) for natural gas and 11" WC (0.4#)for propane.

What makes you think/know natural gas was being used in this RV????

Natural gas is about 7" WC compared to 11" WC for propane. Hooking a natural gas appliance to propane will result in a larger flame.

Make sure there is a regulator in the propane line and hook up the tank. I would try the cook top first and turn the knob only about half open and light the burner. If there is a large orange flame then the stove is jetted for natural gas.
