Hi folks. Hope the new year finds you all well.
I pulled the converter and took to the bench. When plugged in but nothing connected to the output, 13.7v.
I connected a really old inverter to it, not knowing the rating of the inverter as there is no sitckers or numbers anywhere on it. When I power it up with nothing plugged into it I get a solid beep and red light from the inverter. At converter output I read 13.7v without inverter on. When I flip inverter on the voltage drops to around 7v and comes back up to 11.1v.
I connected a new Ridgid 100 watt. When I turn on the 100 watt inverter I can never get a green light. Took it to my truck and plugged it in and I DID get the green light. Voltage out of converter when connected to this little 100 watt inverter bounces around between 9.8v and 12.2v.
Reckon the converter is bad eh? BTW this was all done with the wizard NOT connected.
If I but another, would you folks recommend that I stick with the intelli power 9100 (Model PD9155) and the wizard? Far as i know it is original and has lasted near 20 years.
Even if I buy a new one is there a repair center for the old and if so would it be worth it? Just checking.
