Converter breaker trips when battery disconnected.

If I plug the camper in while the battery is disconnected the breaker for the converter trips. If the battery is connected and I plug in it does NOT trip the breaker.

Normal? Nowhere to dump the start up juice maybe?

My disconnect is on the negative post. I don't find any leak from frame to positive.

Can't help but disconnect. 30 some years says batteries sitting unused get switched out or disconnected. Old habbits.

Could the positive cable for the battery be touching something or have a nick in it that causes a fault to ground. Assuming you are disconnecting the battery using the positive cable

Pretty much tells a person to NOT disconnect the battery - dont'cha think?
