CONVERTER OUTPUT ?

I dry camp with my twin group 27 deep cycles running the TV & DVD player through a Harbor Freight 400 wat converter. Even when I connect directly to the battery I cannot power my friends CPap machine which draws much less than the 400 watt max. I can also NOT run a simple box fan. I am baffled as to why this does not work? Any thoughts? My batteries are fine and this is with a full charge. What's wrong?

What size and length is the 12 volt wire?

The converter has served us well for TV etc,. Still does. I have my Harbor Freight horror stories but this is not one of them. Or is it? I am really stumped. Is there a way to test the output of this converter or what?

I'd guess that you have a HF 400W INVERTER and the square wave off that inverter is not getting along with the fan and the CPAP's controllers.
