Likewise, if you do have a standalone deck mount converter, it can be hidden just about anywhere. Sometimes you can listen for a hum or fan noise to help locate it. Newer converters are more likely to be silent or very nearly so, while some older ferroresonant converters hum rather obtrusively.
My motorhome came with a deck-mount (separate) converter located behind a panel under the pantry, while the electric distribution panel was on the opposite side of the motorhome.
