converter
This past weekend while camping and pluged into shore power we noticed our lights dimming and going bright. had our battery checked and it seems to be ok. i did notice fan not running on converter, ...

Run your battery down to around 12.2 volts (rested voltage)
Plug the trailer in . If no fan, you have issues with converter or wiring.
Not a good indicator if the fan is temp controlled. Just because the voltage is low, the fan won't necessarily come on right away (even if its load controlled for that matter) It could but not necessarily.
To the OP, you haven't done what other have suggested like testing the voltage on the converter. You're chasing your tail until you do that.
Really? So...... You are saying putting a LARGE load on that converter will NOT test as to if the fan system works? Really? If that fan circuit is working it will not take long for the fan to kick on.
Not saying it won't come on eventually but I don't think he had a fan problem anyway. He has dimming lights and has been told in more ways than one to check the voltage and therefore the converter.
And if the fan system has failed do you feel the voltage would be steady in said converter?
