That isn't necessarily correct. Just because an AGM will suffer less from vibration doesn't correlate exactly to life expectancy nor can that be extrapolated to the overall cost differences. Also, some AGM batteries can not be placed with the vents down, depends on the battery.
I noticed that the Go Power converter has an automatic equalization cycle. You may wish to contact Go Power and find out what the voltage is when equalizing. It may exceed the AGM's threshold.

The difference between a deck mount converter and the system converters is that the latter have a 12V distribution center and will probably include the AC circuit breakers. If you already have that, it's not necessary to replace them.
