When my kitchen slide failed, it would go out about 6" and stop, it would slowly go back in.
Dealer said it was a weak motor. They are DC motors so maybe the brushes wear out or the gears get jammed up.
Take a close look at your electric motor(s) on your slide. If there is more than two wires you most likely have stop points. The larger Powergear slide controllers use encoders on the motors that count the revolutions to determine the stop points. It's the people\"RVmechanics" that don't understand slides that can do MAJOR damage.
