Cost of slide motor on '07 HR Endeavor 40PDQ?

Trying to help out a friend. A tech told him the motor on the big slide on his '07 HR Endeavor 40PDQ was weak and needed replacing. The estimated cost was $1000. I know that model and the motor is easily accessible, and I think I could replace it in a couple of hours. So, a dealer or mobile tech would charge maybe $60 for a house call and maybe $120 per hour. That would make the labor cost $300 labor. Is the motor, the motor $700?

  • Be very, very sceptical! Those motors are not prone to fail.

I thought the slide motor was shot on our 5er, but got under there and with some difficulty getting at them, put 12v right to the motor's wires, and it ran just fine.

It turned out to be the $25 rocker in/out button that had failed. It was kind of complex to sort out just what was wrong, but I saved having to buy a new slide motor!!!
