Costco 6V battery charge rate
Hello,
I have few questions. I have searched and could not find a direct answer.
First, I list what I have:
I have a 135W panel on roof. Yes, I plan on expanding with 2 more panels some day.
It is fed 8 ga wire to combiner box on the roof.
From this combiner box, 4 ga wire is connected to a new Morningstar TriStar 60 PWM controller. It is equipped with remote battery temperature sensor.
From solar controller, 4 ga wire is connected to a pair of new 6 volt batteries from Costco.
The new Costco golf cart batteries (208 Ah each I think) are connected in series.
1 single true deep cycle 12V 80 Ah battery is also connected in parallel fashion.
All batteries cables (positive and negatives) are also 4 ga as well.
The solar controller is currently set at 14.8volt charge rate.
The question - Is this charge rate optimal for this two batteries? If not, what is the recommended voltage? Do I need equalizer schedule set?
Keep in mind due to tall profile of the battery and very tight vertical space in cabinet - I cannot easily check the water level on regular basis.
Thank you kindly for your assistance.
