I have the Renogy DC-DC "ignition" wire that powers the charger connected to the camper's (house) battery bank with a manual on/off switch in that wire in the camper. Only connection to the truck battery is the input wiring to the charger (the OEM 7-pin for my 20 amp charger is enough for its 30 amp draw).
No DC-DC installed in the Class C, since its alternator charging is already adequate. Not like the lame charging the TC got via the 7-pin. I prefer the simple DC-DC in the camper or trailer method vs the difficult ( for me) method of running extra fat wires to and through the truck, even if that method might get more amps than using a DC-DC.
