Most tow vehicles fuse that "charge" (12V/B+) wire in a 7 pin trailer harness at 40A-50A. That would be about 500w-600W (@12v).
If you want to use a DC-DC charger that can draw more (like a Renogy 60A) you should install a larger "charge" wire from the battery. That wire should be fused at a maximum of 100A.
The fuse will protect the alternator.
