I have finally got my flywheel off to compair to the new one with the ring gear. and there a perfect match. Also the holes in the engine block for the starter motor are not only drilled out but also threaded, this was a wonderful supprise for me as I was sure I was going to need to drill and tap thoes locations.
I need to go to ace hardware and get 2 longer 10mm bolts and then the starter will just bolt right in.
I have a question for any who haved worked on these small engins should I use assembly lube on the shaft where the flywheel is bolted on ?
So far this really has turned out to be such and easy modification If I has prepaired better it could have been done in only 2-3 hours.
I am going to contact cpe and see if I can get my hands on a new electric start shroud as I would prefer not to cut up my existing non ES shroud.
As soon as I get my longer 10mm bolts I will post pictures.
I am so thrilled that I did not have to drill and tap the holes.
