Thanks for the opinions, but I didn’t state the purpose of why I want to do it (‘tinker’ with solar, be eco-friendly, etc) and i’m not clear on what difference that makes, or how much work it might be. I’m not a newcomer to solar, been using it for over 8 years. You are inferring a lot of things from stuff I didn’t say, like wanting to not cook with LP, or not run the fridge at all on LP, or that I don’t know how to perk coffee over the campfire ;)
Let’s assume I know what i’m doing (like not planning to set up 1000 watts of solar at 12v) and i’ll repeat the last question asked: has anyone observed any appreciable benefit in using AGM over FLA for short duration high load use with inverter? This might be the difference between 4 AGMs for me or 6 FLAs. Thanks! Mr. Wizard, your use case seems much in line with what I am doing - If you don’t mind me asking, how many AGMs are you set up with for what total usable amps and what inverter size?
