Since you already have a Bogart Trimetric, you could get the Bogart Solar PWM which ties in with the Trimetric and allows you terminate absorb on the basis of true battery charging amps or Amp Hrs. IOW automate what you're doing now.
My Rogue MPPT stops absorb on the basis of amps (or time) but doesn't know if those amps are going to the batteries or the loads. The Bogart system does.
But still, I would be careful about AGMs (other perhaps than that Outback nanocarbon or carbon foam) if partial state of charge is a frequent occurrence. At least with FLAs you can blast them with a high equalize charge when necessary to help de-sulphate.
