Cummings 315 year 2000 BLUE SMOKE

We have been full timing now for 15 years. Ten in this Diplomat. Lately she is throwing Blue smoke to the disgust of my neighbors, and I do not blame them.
Cummings in Charlotte, NC said it was the #4 injector. (a couple mechanics at parks had said that). Cummings replaced the injector and replaced a 'cracked' exhaust manifold. But it did not solve the problem. I was due surgery and could not let it sit longer so we took it.

Now I want a local mechanic, a good one to do the deep trouble shooting. Being the older guy I worry when things like a compression check is not done while the top is off. I am still putting out blue smoke but not quite as much. I would prefer a mechanic in the Charlotte, GAstonia, NC area. Any suggestions? Thanks.!

Good compression and failed piston oil rings is incredibly unusual for a Cummins. You can smell diesel in the lube oil.

If buying a reman turbo get it from Cummins. Lots of reman garbage was on the market even thirty years ago when I built Quicksilver.
  • i lost a turbo on mind, IIRC smoke increased before the bearings gave out completely, i did not realize what was happening, before it was too late
    check the turbo
the bearings seals might be staring to fail
