Pulsing on the forth stage is a symptom, not enough info to arrive at a root cause...One possibility is that the pulsing might have been occurring during the cell balancing phase of which the BMS may have cut-out due to the 14.6v high limit...
If your rig came with a ‘standard fair’ Progressive Dynamics converter-charger (like say, a 92xx series), you could just add the optional Charge Wizard tethered pendant to kick it into the 14.4v boost mode...From my perspective, regardless of ‘expert vendor opinions’, using a 14.6v charger where there may be a 14.6v BMS cut-off is just asking for unnecessary grief - but ultimately, you’re the decider...
