Note that I never suggested anybody buy an SiO2 when I did my write up on mine. In fact I said that I might be the only RVer that has a scenario where that type of battery would best suit. Horses for courses applies.
The Odyssey does have that high draw feature, but according to the specs the SiO2 will do way more cycles to a deeper DOD, so it might be worth the extra $50 US, if your scenario calls for that.
I see the dealer I used got 50 more in stock last Fall and still has 45 of them. I would not be surprised if something breaks on that front soon. They do deals on price if you buy 3 and I even got a deal on my second one. So there must be some margin they can play with. They might even stop carrying them for all I know how their business is going. IMO PT should make a "stink bid" offer to test the waters.
