FWIW, In my case (thanks to a single 200a/h LFP, 440w solar) I’ve yet to find the necessity to charge from the vehicle alternator (so I don’t bother) or the Honda 2200 genny - to date, off-grid charging has been ‘strictly via solar’, something that was not nearly as viable with my former FLA sixers, and only top-off the LFP for an occasional BMS ops ..Can’t even remember how long it’s been since having to start up the Honda...
So I can’t really relate to all the pages of ‘Luddite buggy and whip’ handwringing that supposedly attached to LFP ownership, in fact compared to FLA’s it’s been a liberating solar friendly experience...In my mind, a difference akin to comparing a vacuum tube to a J-fet...
Either way, to best summarize my real world LFP experiences, the sage wisdom of Yogi Berra seems applicable: “In theory there is no difference between theory and practice; in practice there is.” – Yogi Berra
