Well, I have had my 1500W radiant heater aimed into the back since last night at about this time.
I came back from work, took the insulation off the roof vent again, put my light bulb back in, watched it go POOF! because I took it out hot and laid it in the snow - lol!! dummy...!
Anyhow, new light bulb, put the cover back on, and blocked most of the vents.
I found a nifty way to block the vents. I bought some foam pipe insulation. It is about 1 5/8" round OD. Cut it to suit and stuff it in the vent holes. Works like a champ!!! I left about a 4" slot on the bottom vent, closest to the burner for fresh air intake.
Then turned the fridge back on about half an hour ago.
I'm praying!!!
Just to be sure, I took the cover off the burner and confirmed I have a good strong flame and no debris blocking it.
If this doesn't work, then I can try pulling the thing out and do ???? with it.
Jim suggested turning it over for a day. Not sure what that would do.
I understand basically how these things work but don't know enough about them to really totally understand how they work.
can't hurt I guess, beats taking it to the dump......
AND, I really do appreciate all the input and suggestions from everyone here. Thanks! :)
