- w4phjExplorerFluke 336 will get the job done easily plus it has an inrush memory.

Craftsman AC/DC clamp meter
The Harbor Freight clamp meters do not measure DC amps. Most cheap clamp meters do not have a DC amp range so check carefully.
I have an older Tenma clamp meter that works well.
I was using this one that Tom shows with the AC and DC 400AMP range...
Unfortunately I have not been able to find it here these days... I guess I left it laying on a tree stump in one of my previous off road camping trips... Had used it many many time keeping track of what goes and out of my battery banks...
Roy Ken - j-dExplorer III'd like a single meter for RV use. That'd be
AC and DC Voltage... Is the Craftsman a True RMS AC meter?
AC and DC Amps... Does the Craftsman capture Peak Inrush Amps?
Capacitance... Those Air Conditioning Capacitors!!!
Freqency... Checking Generator Output...
I'm blessed to have a Fluke DVOM that a friend refurbed for me. It handles Capacitance and has saved me a TON of Trouble!
And a cheap HF Clamp-On Ammeter + Very Limited DVOM. The thing has served well, and uses a 9V battery. Another HF uses three button cells that add up to about the price of a new meter. So, add "Two AAA Batteries" to my "Likes List" for that Craftsman.
BUT!!! ALWAYS!!! Have a little cheap DVOM like HF often gives free with any purchase!!! Have one Home, the Car, the Boat, the RV. Give 'em to Friends.
I do nearly all my electrical projects with a free HF meter. Drop it, soak it, blow it up on the wrong setting? Break out another one! - wa8yxmExplorer III

I was going to grab my meter and post the model number but I see that TOM beat me to it.. Thanks Tom.. oh and I second your suggestion. - Wild_CardExplorerNever known of a clamp style dc amp meter. Check dc amperage by running through meter leads. Am i wrong?
- jetcareExplorerI use the Craftsman AC/DC clamp meter and find it works well.

They get ruined by hurricanes or grow legs and run off down the street.
And the more they cost, the faster they run. :) - westendExplorerHere's a Tenma clamp meter that is True RMS.
I was thinking about using this one solely for the RV. I have a Fluke clamp-on so haven't prioritized purchase on the Tenma. - mcheroExplorerThanks Mex
