Dead RV trailer battery when getting home

Hello.
We did a 2 night camp for the first time without power hook ups. We have a new 12v battery and everything worked perfectly. The trailer power said full power still when we left the campground, so basically didn't use much over the weekend. When I got home the trailer battery was totally dead. It's like when plugged into the truck it killed it. I started the truck again and it's was still dead. So I believe possiblity something wrong with the truck. What should I be looking at?

Thanks

  • It could be something as simple as the seven pin plug not fully plugged in. This happened to us once -- I thought it was all the way in, but it was not. The trailer got no juice from the truck, and the batteries died. In the middle of the night. Thus triggering the propane alarm.

What a fun fire drill that was!

So now I check to make sure the plug is really in all the way.

I hope this is all it takes to fix your situation -- wouldn't that be great?
  • Need to know what truck you have. Did it work previously?
