Dealing with SAE roof connector in factory solar wiring

My Wolf Creek Truck camper has an SAE connector on the roof for wiring the solar panels. Man this looks like a leak waiting to happen. What have others done to replace this? yes I will be using ...

After further review, the picture below is what I think it on the roof. My RV is wired with 10g wire, accept the connector below is 12g. I have a 10g end for the roof and all 10g cable.

I will go with this connector and see how it holds up, just watching out for moisture penetration.

If i add more panels at a later date, I will deal with maybe putting a box in place of this connector.
