Plenty of reports of Lifeline lasting 10+ years without all the charging drama.
Originally my point was to get the house battery charged and out of play while doing the day to day commute. I believe the repeated cycling and poor charging is the primary reason for short battery life.
Maybe OP could do a recondition cycle on the existing batteries and get another season out of them.
