When I jump start someone's car. They touch nothing -- I invite them to agree step by step as things get connected. I tell them to not try starting their car before ten minutes as it will stall my engine. Then I sit in my seat. They prematurely start their engine I turn off my key and then tell them to find some one with a more powerful setup.
Control Freaks live difficult lives. LY dont'cha wish you could somehow salt their underhood with a smoke bomb and somehow command trigger it?
David ... off topic a bit but ... when I jump-start another person's vehicle I merely:
1. Start my vehicle's engine.
2. Hook my heavy gauge red jumper cable between their low battery's positive terminal and my vehicle's starting battery positive terminal.
3. Hook my heavy gauge black jumper cable between their low battery's negative terminal and my vehicle's starting battery negative terminal.
4. Tell the person to start their vehicle.
5. Turn off my vehicle's engine.
6. Unhook my jumper cables.
7. Do all of the above jumper cable hooking and unhooking in a sequence and way such that no red touches any black and no red touches any vehicle body metal.
Using my seven step K.I.S.S. method above ... have I been lucking-out all these years?
