MEXICOWANDERER

The last episode of this happening to me was in 2014. Stopped on deserted road for a "pit stop". Had a NOOK cigarette lighter adapter charging the Nook. Look at it before starting engine. ANKER charger had green LED lamp but NOOK had amber "charging needed" LED on.
Started car. ANKER USB charger light off. Pictograph on NOOK was scrambled and nook light was off. Got home. Found NOOK was dead and high-dollar ANKER USB charger dead. This isn't cheap stuff. And if you think this is yet another "miracle coincidence" I feel sorry for you. The auto is now fully transient voltage snubbed.
Long out of warranty the manufacturers of anything on the car could care less. Why should they give a ratz ass about the hundred and ninety dollars it cost me?
"Ooooooo it quit! Well it's four years out of warranty"
As far as my cellular and laptop failures...
A MEDICAL GRADE 120 vac to 12VDC power brick was found failed last week. The city transmission line and substation is less than four blocks from here. The streetlights, all 20+ regional have been out for six months. My reading LED lamp has failed again. I had purchased a lot of 12 NON-CREE auto fog lamps off of eBay for ten dollars. They are not regulated like CREE lamps are. So in goes another six element complete lamp. Wish I had my scope here.
But after I replace the medical grade power brick on my respironics and replace the blown up BiPAP unit itself and get back on therapy since August (the BiPAP was 10-1/2 years old) I might feel good enough to resume a lot of activities. Feeling exhausted 24/7 sucks. BTW I bought a 50 dollar NOS CIRCUIT BOARD for the Bi-PAP and it blew up in less than a month. Voltage in this rental remains "steady" at 122 except for a flicker or six.
Yep the service drop is going to get the whole banana after I get back on therapy tomorrow night. MOV's, TVSs clamped to 180 volts peak-to-peak.
I found a Respironics Dream Station with 188 hours on it for 123.00 in Tijuana. The unit outlasted grandpa I guess.
