The Tristar charge controller has a desufation/equalization mode as well as temperature compensation. I keep my batteries nicely mixed even during 6 months of winter storage in the house. It also allows charging at a high enough voltage for long enough that I do often get to 100% by noon. Realize we often will only use 10-20 amp hours over night. We do not have an inverter and ALL lights are LED. The solar system I have will charge at over 11 amps if the batteries drop to allow bulk charging. Also with the Trimetric I continually increased the 100% set point as the batteries improved in their efficiency and had several days of no draw solar to top them off.100% is 100% (note I am using the 50 amp shunt not the 500 amp for the Trimetric as we have no inverter so my accuracy is 10 times what most folks would have.)
