Thanks for the great pics Soundguy. Those are incredibly helpful. I was going to have the shop do the work, but now I'm thinking it might be ok to do the job myself as I'm a handy guy.
Just wondering what you used to plug the original pickup hole on the tank and any other tips about which parts work best for this job would be greatly appreciated.
For every trailer we've owned going all the way back to our popup days I've added a Fresh Water Transfer Pump so I can effortlessly transfer water I've collected at the campground fresh water supply in portable Aquatainers into the trailer's fresh water holding tank. With this current trailer once I had moved the trailer's pump intake line down to the tank drain port I obviously had an open port on the tank so I installed a potable water hose from the output port of my Fresh Water Transfer Pump which is located on the trailer tongue to this tank port. To transfer water all I do is drop the draw tube for this pump's intake hose into a full Aquatainer which is sitting on my truck tailgate and switch on the pump ... water transfers automatically into the tank. Easy ... all the tank fittings are standard 1/2" NPT (National Pipe Thread). About a dozen and a half pics start here which I think should be self explanatory. :)
