Detachable TV Mount

Well it seems the Samsung LCD TV (26") in my MH crapped out. Since I have 4 TVs in my house I don't see the point of buying another TV just for the MH. The TV I want to use is a Vizio 26" LCD. Desirable, if it exists, would be an articulating mount that detaches at the back of the TV leaving the VESA plate in place. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks.

  • I really like the one's from Sandia Man and otrfun. Probably go with the Omnimount. I've used their stuff before and it's made well. I told the DW we could get two mounts for less than a new TV so this is awesome stuff. Thanks much all!
  • Jensen makes a nice system of mounts:

You can see the progression from flat on the wall, to single arm, to double arm on that page. You can sort of see the V-shaped bracket that stays on the wall when you remove the TV and the rest of the mount. In the past, you could buy just that V, to use as an additional mounting location for the TV. You probably still can, although I didn't see it.

I have the double arm MAF50 in our Sunseeker. It works well. I bought an additional V wall mount in order to make up something for using the TV outside the MH, but have not done anything with it yet. The idea is that I'll detach the TV and then hang it on the mount outside. I think it will be something other than attached to the sidewall of the MH, however.

I also mistakenly bought an entire extra MAF50.
  • I purchased our articulating arm from Walmart for our 26" Sharp with DVD player, just spin off knob behind VESA plate and lift off. The arm is mounted to the inside of a cabinet in the bedroom and the LED tv is flush against the face of cabinet when not in use. We pull it out and and angle as needed to view from our bed, it weighs 13 pounds and arm has no issues holding it sturdily in place.

TV's like converters are normally very simple to repair
Sorry I'm not located closer would fix it up for you for no more than $20
    Unless you broke the screen...............
  • I use the articulating mount in my MH and I like the fact that I just lift it up and take it into the house when I get home. I do not leave it on the wall when traveling so it is good to have one that just lifts off the arm. It does have a knob to hold it on the arm, I just don't use it. The plate stays on the TV. JMO
  • Highly recommend this articulating mount. Purchased one to use in my TT--works great:

Can't beat the price, less than $10. Plus, if you look at the pics you can easily detach/unhinge it. A lot of these articulating mounts have a tendency to sag on the left or right side without a way to adjust. This one will turn 360 degrees!
