Did I Do a Dumb Thing?

Had the smog test done today, and my Minnie passed with flying colors! I did add 10 gallons of fuel to dilute the Sea Foam, but that probably wasn't necessary! Thanks for all the replies, now to figure out why the Onan Generator is surging! Thank God for retirement!

Doesn't one can of seafoam treat 16 gallons of fuel? It certainly is good to prolong the life of ethanol. I think it is good for you fuel system...like techron.

If it seems to run OK, the fuel economy has not suffered since the last inspection, and the vehicle passed the last test within limits, you're home free.

Thanks for all the helpful answers. I'm going to run it hard on the way down to Wayne's Smog and we'll see what happens. I hope that the Sea Foam has been diluted enough not to effect anything, I'll keep you all posted.

sat what you want but sea foam is by far the best thing you can put in your fuel.

X2 on this. SeaFoam is great stuff for keeping engine fuel systems clean but don't over use it is my recommendation. My diesel vehicles gets a treated tank full every year which directly after running that tank through I change the fuel filters to make sure nothing gets into the engines. That stuff cleans good so don't over use it or use it on a vehicle that has an excessively dirty fuel system unless prepared to deal with the junk it loosens up.

Maybe in a parts seminar they tell you to sell it but I didn't work in parts or sales.

I would fill it up to dilute the Seafoam IF gas and if fuel injected. I used some and it worked to good, I'm still changing fuel filter every 3,000 miles as it is still freeing up junk in tank and pushing it to gas fuel injector. On the good side I can change an injector and fuel filter in less than 20 min.

I wouldn't worry about smog test to much. Don't you get to fail once before they extract more money out of you?

Side note...Ran some in Coleman lantern, it worked better after that IMO. I will not use it anymore on anything fuel injected, anything carb'd is free game.

Next time you do your generator pick up some hose at Home Depot and run gen off lawn mower gas can with Seafoam mixed in.
