Dimmer switch or cover for bright bedroom light?

Does anyone have an easy solution for the light over the bed in my 5th wheel being as bright as search light? The things I find online for dimmers look like switch replacements but the light in quest...

Two photographs would be real helpful, one of the fixture intact and one of the fixture with the defuser(lens) removed, both with the light off.

I agree with replacing the bulb with a lower CP or LM rating. I've noticed that LED bulbs usually have LM rating.
