Until your POSITIVELY CHARGED WRENCH gets into a tiff with a negatively oriented fender or a brace.
Switching POSITIVE is perfectly OK if the difference in selection is world shakingly easier to install and access. Just protect those exposed lugs on the bottom (rear) of the switch. I did this with a guy's Subaru and ran two 24 gauge wires into the cabin and connected them to an LED. When the LED was on, the switch was open.
