Disposable Cylinder To Hose LPG Adapter

You'd think they were made of silver the way they are priced. I have several items that use screw-on one pound disposable bottles and I would like to ADAPT them to fit a hose and an LPG cylinder that is around 40X less expensive for gas.

Any sources that do not need a bank reference?

  • Not expensive here in Canada either....I have 2 10ft ones and a "T" adapter on a tank, so I can run the BBQ and outside cook stove at the same time. Had the hardest time finding the "T" adapter
  • For anything related to propane I've found Calore Equipment to be the place to shop. I think the part you're looking for is this one.
  • I bought one a few years back at walmart. The one I bought had a metal bar you could attach to the tank. It is nice because you can screw a propane lantern onto it and have a tall light. It had various ports to hook into and I have a hose to go from the ports to a camp stove etc.

    Mine looks like this:
    Propane Tree - Amazon

What I like is that it attaches to the tank handle securely - it does not place weight on the valve. I remember it being less expensive though...

  • The reason they are sometimes pricey is that they know that's pretty much the last shot they get at your wallet... no more selling you an endless string of 1 lb bottles :(. Nice thing is, it still hurts them more than you.

    Who's cynical? Who, me?

$20 from Amazon for a 5ft "adapter" hose which connects to 20lb lp tank and the other end connects to your device which is setup for the disposable cylinders..

    Coleman 2000005062 Hose/adapter

Most likely be able to find other sources for this part at similar pricing.
  • I'd love to find a "Y" adaptor so I could hook up 2 1# tanks to my catalytic heater... 1 cylinder only runs about 5 hours and I don't like getting up at 3:00 AM to change out tanks.
  • I know it's been mentioned here before. The best person for anything related to propane and propane accessories is Hank Hill. He works at Strickland Propane down in Arlen, TX. He won't steer you wrong.

Unless you buy in Canadian Tire: $39. They are a discount store, or so they say :B
