Can you set the Regressive Dynamics converter to put out a steady 14.4 volts? If it's anything like a WFCO it'd drop charging time from five years to three (yes it is sarcastic as hell but the WFCO deserves it).
This is far more biased for discussing converter types than it is about battery chemistry. Someone will have to speak up about your charger type and it's options before an accurate answer can be construed.
