Discreates are dandy, Here is some logic.
Now I do not have solar but I have both an inverter/converter and a converter only.
So, when the inverter lost its mind (Display said "Prosine Memory Error") And I had to send it back west for replacement... I simply hooked the IN 120 volt leads to the OUT-120 volt leads (NOTE: Labeled them BEFORE I disconnected them) and shipped the box.. I still had 12 volt from the PDI 9180+Wizard, and I had 120 to everyhting when on shore power.
IF, however, I'd removed the PDI as CW suggested when I had em put in the Prosine... I'd have had no 12vdc.
WIth a solar converter, a shore converter, and an inverter or inverter/converter as I have. YOu have back ups.. IF one system fails, you ahve others that can keep you in 12 volts.
NOTE: I like the PDI programmign better than the Prosine for charging so I use it normally. but from time to time things happen, THe PDI is a plug in (Has a genuine plug that goes in the slots in the power outlet box) I have been known to snag the cord and NO POWER. When that happens it is usually about 3am when I figure it out.. CLICK and the Prosine puts out 12 volt. A literal practiceing what I am preaching here. BACK UP GOOD. no back up not so hot.
