- Wayne_DohnalExplorerThis part of the eu2000i parts list got my attention:
Fuel cap, standard: $13.82
Fuel cap, California: $39.08
Good thing there isn't a California inverter! - GdetrailerExplorer III

Actually a Honda has a BETTER chance of getting 0 DB by someone TAKING IT.. Something else to "ponder" :@
As far as the OPs question goes, it might and it might not..
Some folks have been successful with a Honda 2000W inverter gen and some have not.. Honda 2000W inverter gen is rated 2000W PEAK, 1800W RUN.
HF is rating theirs at 2500W PEAK and 2200W RUN..
The main thing I see is with the HF gen you do not get "Econo mode" but I would not think that is a big issue since once you load the Hondas they are no longer running slow (Econo) and WILL be running noisy..
At $499 for the HF unit it might be worth a stab at trying it when compared to spending $1000 of the Honda..
Check with HF but I do think they just might take it back if not happy with it.. - jornExplorer

The chances of the generator developing 0 db. - 2oldmanExplorer IIThere was one in a CG I recently visited. Although not contractor loud, it was clattery and noisy.

64 DB sounds a little loud.
That's 6 to 10 dB more then a similar Honda. Which is a noticeable difference. That means it's roughly twice is loud (to the human ear)
But it's still more then 30 dB quieter then any published spec I have seen for a National Forest (99 dB was published for one Forest)
64 is not terrible, but also not great.
Now, I am a great fan of Harbor Freight. As I often say "Your choice for disposable tools". I buy a lot of tools from them, where I don't care about longevity.
I DON'T consider a generator to be a disposable tool.
Umm.. if your Honda needed repaired you "might" be considering it to be a "disposable" tool..
The inverter alone will run you a cool $423 plus shipping all by it's self :E :S
Honda 2000W replacement parts
If you took a Honda inverter gen to a dealer for an inverter replacement you would be seeing at least $600 - $800 repair bill after they markup the inverter and add in their labor...
So much for NOT being "disposable" :B - 1492ModeratorMoved from Technology Corner
