You do not understand how RV cooling works. The freezer has NOTHING to do with the lower or regular cooling section. The RV cooling unit has 2 sections of coolant tubes. 1 for the freezer and another for the regular refer section. The REASON a freezer will work with a defective cooling unit is the blockage is PAST the freezer coolant lines. HOME type refers do use the evap from the freezer to convection or fan blow the air to cool that section of the refer. Doug
