Dometic 8500 manual awaning

Has anyone experience with a dometic 8500 manual awning? If so, can one person actually operate? Thanks

Great advice and IMO not so much about it slamming against the trailer, but unless you hold onto the pull strap until it's completely closed the loop on the end to use the wand to open it will be tucked somewhere in side the awning and not accessible. Then you might need two so you can pull on the arms evenly to open the awning the next time.

  • i don't see how i would have needed a second person, to open and roll out the 8500 awning on my previous TT.
