Yeah. I'm not sure - even opening up the vent on it that directs all the cold air out of the unit instead of the ducts had about a 71 degree air temp when it was in the mid 80's yesterday. The thing used to work really well and would freeze you out at night earlier in the summer.
Do they develop leaks or could it be a sensor problem?
Yes, they can have leaks. Possible it is a freeze sensor but very unlikely. AS I stated, IF you hear the hum of the compressor or go up on top and put your hand on the compressor and it IS running, there is no other thing to do but replace the upper unit. Doug
