E1 is loss of communication between the wall CCC Tstat and ANY of the Roof AC control modules. Now, DRV, usually has TOP mounted AC units and NO access from the inside, as it does not have the 15 by 15 inch inside ceiling Plenum/filter assbly. So, it also depends on your Dometic Model number(Penguin or regular profile). They usually used Penguins. That means the control board is only accessed from the roof. You have to remove the top cover and then remove a metal plate to expose the upper AC board. The USUAL cause of E1 on an older unit is corrosion in the Evaporator area. The 4 wire phone TYPE cables get moisture from the humidity and corrode the modular pins. The control boards have 2 phone type connections. then they have a short 12 inch long pigtail that the Tstat connection connects too. It is a beige quick connect union. That is usually located in front of the evaporator and you have to remove the plastic evap cover to access this. If you have more than 1 roof AC, then you have to check all AC connections as 1 corroded will cause communication errors. Doug
