New camper lived in for a month now 25v Vengence anyway long time rver and fridge just quit cooling lights on front seem fine there is power at the 120 in the back when I unplug it the gas kicks on and the chimney gets hot checked the 3 amp and 5 amp and the inline fuse none are blown which makes sense cause there doesn't seem to be a power failure except that the fridge is warm inside! Everything is under warranty hopefully being new I sure don't have the time to take it to the dealer right now 2 hours away. Any ideas?

Have you tried switching to propane?Have you cleaned the stack?Is there any yellowish material in the out side access/

If I unplug the 120 chord or switch it from inside ei take it off auto no lights then on the burner clicks and ignites and chimney feels warm and gets hot. No yellowish material inside the back covers and I also tried leaving it off for 12 hours then turning it on as far as cleaning I haven't looked at that a fan did kick on kinda noisy after the gas was on a half hour or so still no cooling inside though does the chimney come out the roof? Only other bit of info is we are living in it and we've been using it for a month now in 30 degree out door temps now it's finally warming up here 70 the last two days.

Welcome to the forums. Did you feel the cooling plate in the freezer? If you are able to heat up the cooling unit with AC or propane and you have no cooling, odds are that it's a bad cooling unit and you need to make the trip to the dealer to have it replaced. Having said that, did you try just adjusting the thermostat for the warmer temps? Good luck with your repairs.Miles

Ok out of sheer desperation I slid the slider on the fin inside to colder which the sensor clips to the back of not firmly however the sensor slides too. At any rate it is cooling now no I've still water in the freezer however noticing the sensor slides behind the slider I have lifted that an inch or so now I'm just nervous that it's going to keep cooling or actually get down to temp? I will post an update in 24hrs thank you guys for the tips great forum.

Dometic fridge just quit cooling no fuses blown.

This sounds to me like the heating element, just like mine! Fridge works fine on Gas, but on electric, NOTHING. Unplug the fridge, and find the heating element inserted into the Flue. there are 2 thick wires coming from it. Take a multimeter and measure the ohms of resistance across the 2 terminals. If its ZERO (like mine) its shot. Now if you are getting a reading on it, you need to make sure that the ohms of resistance is equal to what the manufacturer calls for. (Find this on the internet)... Mine should have been 44 ohms of resistance. If its below specs, the fridge will never cool correctly. it may be slight.

Do a web search on Ford RV refrigeration and find his video on you tube. He walks you through the process of testing your fridge. He is a great guy and will even offer advice.

Had the same problem with a 1 year old Dometic refrigerator - the heater worked on both gas & electric, but neither the refrigerator of freezer got cold. End result was a replaced cooling unit (although Dometic insisted that he heating unit be replaced first), both under warranty.

Hi,

Warm in the freezer is not a good sign. Are you sure the unit is heating?

Is there adequate 12 volt power?

So it only worked for 2 days then nothing warm in the freezer. Should I be looking at this thermo sensor?

Ok I'm assuming that's the part at the end of the wire inside the fridge that I said had slid down? At any rate the fridge is still working fine now and I will check that out also I need to climb up on the roof and inspect the chimney as well as the black tank vent seeing as how the head has always bubbled back up when flushed. Again thanks for all the good input guys.

Inspect the thermistor for damaged areas. Wires could be damged right at the sensor. You may need a new one.

Make sure it's level or you'll destroy the cooling unit.
