Dometic Fridge Light? Problem

One-year old Dometic fridge light ceased working a few weeks ago. Bulb was obviously blown so bought a new one, but it didn't solve the problem.
Called Dometic and they suggested it could be the computer board or possibly the fuse. Checked the fuse panel and all was OK. I asked if it could be the switch that activates the light when you open the door - Dometic said it doesn't have a switch!!???? Uh... yeah, it does have a switch, and you can buy replacements online from several places.
Before I go the computer board route, has anyone had a similar issue and solved it by replacing the (non)'switch'?

There are two fuse panels.. one is an open panel has 120 volt fuses on it, After 120 volts is safe right (NO!!) you won't get shocked if you touch those wires RIGHT (WRONG!)

The computer board is in a black box to the left.. That is where the other fuses are. And then there is the fuse in the power distribution panel (Fuse box for the RV).
  • Yep, seems it was a 'sticky' switch on the door. We jiggled it after turning the fridge off and on again. Light has worked ever since, both with the first new bulb, then with an LED bulb from Walmart.

    Thanks for the tip!
  • This the blue LED at the door latch? Simple reed-type switch in there - mine sticks on occasion - tweak it with a blade so it doesn't catch on the side. ST
  • We need a model number. IIRC, the RM8000 series use a magnetic reed switch through the board, other models use a plain switch.
