Appears to have a thermocouple. If so it will look like about a 1/4 inch in diameter probe that sticks out into the flame. It should have a very thin tube going back to the control valve. 2 things need to be right. The thermocouple end should be clean, it can be cleaned with some fine emery cloth or small wire brush. The pilot orifice must be clean. It has to produce a flame that is large enough to keep the thermocouple hot or the supply valve will think that the flame has gone out and shuts down gas flow.
You may be ale to hear the flame and it may look rather large but that's what is needed to keep the thermocouple hot and make the frig work. If it's just a tiny little flame, the orifice is plugged. It's common for spiders and mud dabbers to plug stuff up.
