Dometic frig temperature adjustment

My Dometic Model 3962 frig has a temp adjustment button/indictor on the inside front panel. It seems to be inoperative---no light indicator for setting and the button does not appear to have any effect on cooling temp (frig and freezer are cooling OK). Has anyone experienced this problem and if so what was the fix? Also,is there a default temp setting which kicks in when the frig is turned on?

  • The temperature display works. The on/off an mode buttons work--its just the temp set that doesn't. Thanks Biscuit for the reply!
  • IS the 'display panel' indicating anything..........temperatures, operation mode (auto/gas) and/or error codes??

Communication cable comes from control module (outside compartment---lower left side at J2) goes to 'display panel' and then cable goes to 'control panel'
Check that cable is plugged in........

IF fridge is operating and 'no display' then it is operating on last know input.
Control panel/display panel or communication cable is probably failed.

Also there is a 5A mini auto fuse on control module that is for 12V DC (the 5A glass one is for the AC heater circuit)
IF fuse is blown fridge wouldn't work at all.

Here is a manual. Not much in diagnostic but does have wiring diagram and error codes etc.
