The refrigerator in our Host Mammoth is on of the cheap non adjustable models(that is a slam) a 2852. Ours is too cold. I read about the adjustable thermister on some models, but the only temperature switch I can find is fastened to the finned heat exchanger at the top. The control box cover also doesn't want to come off to accurately trace the thermister wires. Any Suggestions?

Adjusrable is a loose term. To make temp adjustments you slide the thermister up or down the fin. A little is a lot, so go slow and allow the refer to adjust before taking a reading. If you wa*nt a decent reading, place a thermometer in a glass of water.

If the actual thermistor on the end of the white wire has slipped out of the plastic slide, the refrigerator will be too cold.

Had that fridge in our last TT. It worked flawlessly during the 14 years we had it even in the hotest weather. Sure wish I had that one rather than the poor performing Nocold we have now.

Thanks much for the pics as I thought the thermister was in the back. Found it fallen out of the slider so put back in and still adjusting as our thermometer is not good and finding another one has not been easy as we are about 400mi south of Laredo in Mexico.

OP has 'Auto Temp Control'......uses factory preset temp with minor adjustments by moving thermistor
Doesn't have an adjustments on upper panel

Both of yours have adjustments on upper panel. The thermostat is calibrated for preset temps based on OEM position of thermistor

Regardless...temp adjustments do NOT control freezer temps.
Freezer temps are based on cooling unit design ------amount of hot ammonia vapor that is condensed into cold ammonia liquid which then absorbs heat from Freezer 1st.
Then heat is absorbed from Food compartment

Thermostat controls cooling cycle (heat on/heat off) via FIN temp sensed by thermistor in Food compartment.

Mine has both.
When control panel gives you setting for freezer temperature - sliding thermistor seem to be balancing difference between freezer and fridge sides.

In food compartment is the temp sensor for fridge thermostat...thermistor

Located in a plastic clip
Tip of thermistor should just protrude from top of clip

Clip should be on far right fin
Mid position is OEM location

Moving clip UP....cooler food compartment temps
Moving clip DOWN.....less cooler food compartment temps

Moving the thermistor UP/DOWN will cause minor temp changes 6*F-8*F overall

IF thermistor is faulty you can replace it with a 'rheostat' that just replaces the thermistor using existing leads.
