OP has 'Auto Temp Control'......uses factory preset temp with minor adjustments by moving thermistor
Doesn't have an adjustments on upper panel
Both of yours have adjustments on upper panel. The thermostat is calibrated for preset temps based on OEM position of thermistor
Regardless...temp adjustments do NOT control freezer temps.
Freezer temps are based on cooling unit design ------amount of hot ammonia vapor that is condensed into cold ammonia liquid which then absorbs heat from Freezer 1st.
Then heat is absorbed from Food compartment
Thermostat controls cooling cycle (heat on/heat off) via FIN temp sensed by thermistor in Food compartment.
