Besides watts, I'm not sure what the other differences may be here. It's even possible that the newer elements have been wound to distribute heat differently. Perhaps Dometic moved the "hot spot" to a slightly different location? If they redesigned the element to reduce risk of failures, it's reasonable to assume they would have tried to move the heat away from the problem area. Without having the specs on these revisions, it's best to play it safe and stick with the factory recommended part. Tim
