Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07

I just don't get it....Dometic is going to fix this problem with 15 minutes of labor. I read of reducing the size wattage of the electric element. I read where you are not to use Gas operation period. I read the problem is a result of overheat on the weld. Okay does the above mean that the heat from the gas operation really does not effect the deteriation of the weld and after they reduce the wattage of the electric unit we are safe to use gas again?
